DESCRIPTION: EPW - Longines, Swiss, rare instantaneous chronograph with sweep-seconds and sweep-minute recorders, 52mm, nickel OF original Longines case with button on band at 1:30 for reset of sweep hands, white enamel SS impressed dial, SW-SS, lever escapement, 17J, fausses-cĂ´tes pattern nickel damascene, s#6203004. Comes as pictured with its original Longines hangtag marked with correctly matched serial number and "Model 4989" designation as well as with a cloth Longines pouch. A seldom seen Longines complication, on first glance this watch has an appearance similar to a typical split-seconds chronograph but its actual function is quite different as both sweep hands return to zero upon depression of the button at 1:30, and immediately start recording upon release of the button; a feature very useful to pilots, bombardiers and other military specialists. With its combination of superb condition and original accessory items, the present watch is an exceptional example of this Longines rarity.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, good instantaneous chronograph function, few small spots to perimeter of escape wheel bridge, small fine scratch to perimeter of center sweep bridge; case shows hardly any wear, few mild small mars and short scratches adjacent opening positions of bezel and rear, some scattered tiny nicks, no dents; tight bow, crown shows hardly any wear; good glass crystal; hangtag shows light wear, crease to one corner; cloth pouch shows light wear.
ESTIMATE: $1500 - $3000
